Curve EQ

The Curve EQ allows you to fine tune the frequency spectrum of your music or sound. You have control over four individual bands, which allows you to attenuate or boost specific frequency ranges and shape the overall characteristics of the audio signal. Equalization may also be applied creatively, to add presence or enhance certain frequencies, to remove noise, hum or low-end rumble, for special effects or numerous other purposes.

To enable Curve EQ on a track, select the track and click the MixStrip button at the top of the Inspector, then click the Enable/Disable button in the EQ module.

The Curve EQ module contains the following controls:

Clipping LED. Shows if the input signal to the Curve EQ module is clipping. If there is any distortion in the MixStrip signal chain, the clipping LEDs let you identify where the clipping occurs.

Curve EQ enable/disable . Enables/disables the Curve EQ module.

Graph. Shows the equalization curve. Each band is identified by a unique color, and the sum of all bands is displayed as a white line.

To adjust a band’s gain, drag up/down. The valid range is -18.0 dB to +18.0 dB and the default value is 0 dB.

To adjust a band’s frequency, drag left/right.

To adjust a band’s Q, hold down the ALT key and drag up/down.

To adjust parameters with finer precision, hold down the SHIFT key while dragging.

Band enable/disable. Enables/disables the Low , Low-Mid , Mid-High and High bands. Enabling a band allows it to be processed with equalization. The knobs and graph curves are color-coded per band:

Low = Red

Low-Mid = Yellow

Mid-High = Green

High = Blue
