The MIDI Device Failure dialog box appears if there is a Windows MIDI Device failure. This can happen if a MIDI device is connected, but Windows can’t enable the driver, or if you start Cakewalk before Windows initialization has fully completed.The affected MIDI port(s) will be unselected in the MIDI Device preferences page (Edit > Preferences >MIDI - Devices.
