SONAR 6.2 Update (addendum for Vista users)

Last updated on 3/31/2016

The information in this article applies to:

  • SONAR 6.2 Producer Edition Update
  • SONAR 6.2 Studio Edition Update

If you have previously launched SONAR 6.0 or SONAR 6.01 on Windows Vista and were not running as an Administrator at the time, Windows Vista may have "virtualized" some of the application data files from your Program Files folder and written them to a different folder instead. This virtualization can cause the default folder paths (in Options | Global | Folders) to be incorrectly set up after applying the SONAR 6.2 update. In order to rectify this problem, after you launch SONAR 6.2, open Options | Global | Folders and change any paths that you see there which point to subfolders under "Program Files" to a custom path or to the new default path as outlined in the Vista User Account Control Implementation document.

The reason you must make these changes is because Windows Vista applications are forbidden to write to these locations and this may cause failures in the application.
